Transformations Beyond Imagination: Inside Melbourne’s Premier Cinemagraphic Makeup Studio

Welcome to Little Shop of Horrors Costumery & Pop-Culture Emporium — Melbourne’s only dedicated Cinemagraphic Makeup Artist and wig styling salon. You’ll know you’re in for something special the moment you walk through the door. This isn’t your average beauty bar — it’s a full-blown transformation studio on the Mornington Peninsula, built from scratch by two sisters with a dream, a whole lot of movie obsession, and a deep love for helping people become their most iconic selves.

We specialise in Costume Makeup Artist services designed for real people going to real events — not just photoshoots or film sets. Whether you’re heading to a themed party, a cosplay event, or simply want to go all-out for your next night out, our makeup transformations are all about bringing legendary characters to life. From cult classics to cartoon icons and cinematic villains, our Costume Makeup Artist work is dramatic, wearable, and unforgettable.

At Little Shop, it’s all about you. You’re the star — we’re just here to make sure you look like one. Watching our clients catch their reflection and love themselves sick in the mirror? Honestly, it never gets old.

Whether you’re from Frankston, inner Melbourne, or anywhere across Victoria, you’ll feel the magic from the moment you arrive.

Meet Louise. Cinemagraphic Makeup Artist, Wig Stylist & Transformation Queen

Every transformation at Little Shop starts with Louise — co-owner, creative powerhouse, and our resident Cinemagraphic Makeup Artist. She’s the one behind the brushes, bald caps, and bold ideas, and trust us… you’ll want her in your corner.

Louise studied Cinemagraphic Makeup at the Australian Academy of Cinemagraphic Makeup (AACM) and has more than 11 years of hands-on experience as a professional Makeup Artist. But more than that? She’s got a lifelong love for movie magic, vintage glamour, and that moment when someone looks in the mirror and goes… “Oh my god, is that really me?!”

As a specialist Costume Makeup Artist, Louise doesn’t just apply makeup — she helps people become their character. Whether you’re transforming into a screen villain, cartoon bombshell, or twisted horror icon, she brings the same care and attention to every single client. Her makeup style is cinematic, bold, and character-driven — and most importantly, it’s comfortable and wearable for real-world costume parties.

Louise’s skill set combines beauty techniques with out-of-kit Special Effects Makeup Artist tricks. That means she can build drama and detail without the need for hours of prosthetic work. Using a mix of Mehron face paints, alcohol palettes, Kryolan foundations, and theatrical adhesives, she creates dimensional, high-impact looks that hold up all night — and still come off easily when the party’s over.

Whether you book her for a full Movie Makeover, a character party, or a custom SFX session, you’re in the hands of one of the most versatile Makeup Artists in Melbourne. And yes — she’s also a killer Wig Stylist. (More on that later.)

Character Spotlight: Jessica Rabbit

Jessica Rabbit is the ultimate cartoon siren — sultry, exaggerated, and totally unforgettable. And when it comes to creating that iconic look in real life, this is where Louise’s skills as a Cinemagraphic Makeup Artist and Character Makeup Artist truly shine. From the sculpted eye to the wavy red hair, every detail of this Jessica Rabbit makeup transformation is crafted with intention and precision.

This full-character makeover features our exclusive Jessica Rabbit costume and is brought to life with detailed Jessica Rabbit makeup in the salon. Louise begins by blocking the model’s brows — creating a clean canvas for Jessica’s signature eye shape and cartoon arch. The cheek contour, overdrawn lips, and soft purple shadow are all applied using Kryolan base and precision techniques, developed through years of Makeup Artist experience working on real faces, under real lighting.

But it’s not Jessica without that hair. Louise styled our premium lace front Jessica Rabbit wig by hand, recreating those glossy, exaggerated waves that fall just right — whether you’re posing in studio or headed to an event. The full look is bold, comfortable, and made to last the night.

Once the Jessica Rabbit makeup was complete, Alicia captured the transformation through our Movie Makeover photography experience. With cinematic lighting and a touch of post-production magic, the final image feels like a vintage animation cell — but make it real.

It’s glamour… but with character. A transformation that blends performance and polish. If you’ve been dreaming of a Jessica Rabbit makeup look, complete with the wig, costume, and the hands of a truly skilled Makeup Artist, Louise is ready to make it happen.

Melbourne’s Home of Character & Costume Makeup

Boring and beige? We don’t know her. At Little Shop of Horrors, everything we do — from makeup to customer care — is full of character, colour, and a little bit of chaos (the fun kind). This isn’t your standard glam studio. We’re the go-to destination for bold transformations, screen-accurate looks, and next-level costume magic… all under one roof.

We’re the only salon of our kind on the Mornington Peninsula, dedicated entirely to character, costume, cinematic, and special effects makeup. That’s right — Melbourne’s only dedicated Cinemagraphic Makeup Artist and Wig Salon, operating out of a costumery filled with licensed movie pieces, cult collectables, and a showroom that feels more like a film set than a store.

What makes us different? We actually live and breathe this stuff. Our clients don’t just get a bold lip or a pretty smokey eye — they get a transformation. We specialise in Costume Makeup Artist work that tells a story. Characters you know. Looks you recognise. Faces you remember. Whether it’s Heath Ledger’s Joker, the Bride of Frankenstein, or Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Louise will take that inspiration and turn it into a look that’s both screen-accurate and party-ready.

Because we’re also a retail shop, we work with professional-grade products every day — and we know what performs under pressure. Our shelves are filled with Mehron, spirit gum adhesives, Synwax, liquid latex, contact lenses, and the full range of Tinsley SFX Transfers — all the bits and pieces that help turn “I have a party on Saturday night” into “I just became my favourite character and had the best night ever.”

We understand that not everyone wants to sit in a chair for six hours to get into character. That’s why our Makeup Artist services are built around smart, fast, professional results. Louise combines the speed and adaptability of an out-of-kit Special Effects Makeup Artist with the precision of a trained beauty pro — giving you the best of both worlds in one unforgettable appointment.

"You're the star.. we're just here to make you look like one"

Character Spotlight: Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit

This transformation is a perfect example of what happens when character, costume, and makeup all come together — and it’s one of our favourites to date. Judge Doom is a complex character, with equal parts menace and cartoon absurdity. Pulling it off convincingly takes more than just a creepy stare… it takes the right Character Makeup Artist who understands how to translate fiction into reality.

This full transformation was done entirely in-house by our team here on the Mornington Peninsula, using our premium Movie Makeover package. Louise began with a custom bald cap — built in-salon and expertly applied to fit the head, cover all hair, and look completely seamless on camera. From there, she blocked the brows, contoured the character’s exaggerated features, and individually placed strands of blonde hair over the bald cap to recreate Doom’s wiry, unsettling look.

This wasn’t a quick face paint job. As a trained Costume Makeup Artist, Louise layered multiple textures and tones using Mehron paints and alcohol palettes to give the skin a slightly animated, slightly sinister feel — not quite human, not quite toon. Her skill as a Special Effects Makeup Artist was key to making the character look surreal yet believable.

Then came the fun part. Once the makeup was locked in, Alicia worked her post-production magic as part of our Movie Makeover photography session. She digitally enhanced the eyes and exaggerated the teeth to capture that uncanny, otherworldly feel — the same one that terrified you as a kid when Doom’s human mask slipped away.

The final result? Equal parts horror, humour, and cartoon chaos — a fully realised, wearable character look created entirely in our salon. And yes — this full transformation is available to book as a Movie Makeover with our Makeup Artist team.

This is what our Character Makeup Artist service is all about: bold, creative transformations that don’t just look the part… they feel like the character.

"I love the direction and advice you gave during my Movie Makeover! It was so helpful and made me feel so much more comfortable. I had soooooo much fun with you. Can’t wait to see the finished photos. The proofs were incredible!"
