The Giant Squid is a creature that lives in the Great Lake, on the grounds of Hogwarts Castle. Despite the generalised fear of it and a Chocolate Frog Card describing it as "the bane" of Hogwarts students, the Giant Squid is actually semi-domesticated and, as such, is very docile and helpful to the students of Hogwarts.
